It’s not your father’s printing industry any more. Whereas once upon a time you were either a litho printer or a screen printer or a flexographic printer, the advent of digital technologies means market segments are blurring.
With many printers establishing digital workflows, they can produce a wider array of products and services for different industries in new markets with the simple addition of a new piece of equipment. While it’s an exciting time in the industry, staying on top of developments in the marketplace and continually learning about the different technologies can be difficult. Fortunately, there’s a perfect place to do your homework: the 2018 SGIA Expo. The Expo, which will be held in Las Vegas October 18–20, provides the opportunity to learn about the changing face of the printing industry in one place under one roof.
Educational Opportunities Abound
Given the rapid changes that are taking place in the print industry, education is more important than ever. Education at the Expo is targeted for a variety of segments, including sign and graphics, garment decoration, industrial printing, graphic installation, commercial printing and package printing. The Expo offers a variety of education options, most accessible with the Expo + Education Pass. 72 Sessions with Education Pass The 2018 SGIA Expo offers expanded educational programming with a total of 72 hour-long sessions.

The second – Wide-Format 101: Essential Skills for Success – covers the nuances of ink use and provides a systematic approach to color management.
The cost of these sessions is $49 and they are not included as part of the Expo + Education Pass.
